Welcome to Social Auto Poster ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your personal data is handled securely. This Privacy Policy explains how our desktop application and associated services collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use Social Auto Poster.
1. Information We Collect
Social Auto Poster operates primarily as a local desktop software application. We collect minimal data necessary for core features, scheduling, and license management:
- Account & Authentication Tokens: OAuth Access Tokens for connected Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts. These are stored locally on your device in secure storage (`flutter_secure_storage`).
- License & Activation Information: License keys, machine identifier hashes, and activation status verified via our backend services (Supabase/Firebase).
- User-Generated Media & Content: Captions, images, videos, and post schedules that you configure within the application. These stay stored locally in your local database (SQLite/Drift).
- Application Logs: Technical log data generated locally for debugging background processes, media downloads, and API call logs.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information strictly for the following operational purposes:
- Publishing and scheduling posts directly to your connected Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pages/accounts upon your explicit authorization.
- Validating application license status and entitlement checks.
- Downloading media requested by you via integrated tools (e.g., yt-dlp).
- Ensuring the performance, security, and stability of the application.
3. Meta (Facebook & Instagram) Data Handling & Security
Social Auto Poster integrates with Meta Graph APIs to enable post scheduling and page management:
- We process user access tokens exclusively to perform actions explicitly requested by you (e.g., publishing posts, fetching page lists).
- We do not sell, share, or monetize your Meta user data or Access Tokens to any third parties.
- All Access Tokens are stored securely on your local operating system storage and are never transferred to our servers except as necessary for OAuth authentication callbacks.
4. Data Storage and Retention
All post queues, local database entries, settings, and credentials reside on your local device. Uninstalling the application or clearing local application data will remove stored tokens and local database records from your system.
5. Data Deletion and Account Revocation
You can revoke Social Auto Poster's access to your Facebook or Instagram account at any time by:
- Removing connected pages directly inside the Social Auto Poster app settings.
- Navigating to your Facebook Business Integration Settings (Settings & Privacy > Business Integrations) and removing the Social Auto Poster app authorization.

6. Third-Party Services
The app may interact with third-party tools and APIs based on your workflow, including Meta API (Facebook/Instagram), Supabase/Firebase (license verification), and local command-line tools like `yt-dlp`. Each third-party platform operates under its own respective privacy policy.
